Buy a Bitcoin?

A lot of people today, looking at the progress and boom of bitcoin want to invest and buy bitcoin. But bitcoin is not a company or a stock. So, what do all these people mean by investing or buying Bitcoin? Bitcoin is a currency. How do you want to invest in a currency? If it meant appreciating the value or trading it, we need to have a closer look at the insight first.

Buying and holding

Buying Bitcoin in hope that you will avail the opportunity cost or the value will appreciate, is known as ‘Hodling’. If this is the intention then you need to do your homework yourself beforehand. Study the nature and behavior of the currency. Study and observe the reasons it fluctuates and reacts according to the changing socio-economic natures around the world. Few points to account for;

  • It is a risky task to perform. Always risk the amount that you are okay loosing too. The tables are not always on your side.
  • Always transfer currency to the personal wallet. Never leave it on the exchange. It may result in scam or fraud.
  • Always choose reputable exchangers.
  • Use the method of cost averaging to buy Bitcoins.

Trading

If your aim is trading than it means you are an active participant in buying and selling the currency. You buy the cryptocurrency at lower rates and sell when the rates go up. Trading gives reward only through knowledge and practice.

Investing in Mining

If you are interested in Bitcoin mining and needs to invest in equipment to mine more Bitcoins, it’s not that easy of a task too. There is a lot of scams included in this act too. You may come across complete scams eating away all your currency. Or you may end up in bad investment companies by paying the sites for more coins. It’s basically all surrounded by risks and risks.

Investing bitcoin companies

If a company claims to double to your coins or give the reward that is too good to be true then maybe it is not true. These companies are mostly scams or HYIPS (High Yield Investment Programs). These sites promise untrue rewards and start by creating a referral program or a big buzz around on the site. Entertaining a few startups for a few months, these companies will vanish in the air in no time. There will be no compensation and people will be left crying over the lost bargain. You cannot trust a site fully to say it legit or trustworthy to the fullest.

Is it late to buy bitcoin?

The answer to this is not that simple yet not so complicated too. It totally depends on the understanding and knowledge of the currency. A decentralized, peer to peer electronic currency, controlled by no one but just by the consumer, can be so unreliable to put the bid on. The important is to know how to invest rather than thinking whether to invest or not. The only way out is to know the currency. To understand the knowledge and nature of the currency, its fluctuations and variations are all that counts to invest and make reward out of that investment.

How to Assess Basic Principles Of An Initial Coin Offering

Want create site? Find Free WordPress Themes and plugins.

A person who is not accustomed or used to the terminologies of crypto industry, it is difficult to conceive the idea of initial coin offering or why the tokens are generated and how to assess an initial Coin offering. For a cryptogeek it is quite simple, for him an ICO is a tool that is used to trade future crypto coins which are exchanged for cryptocurrencies having instant or liquid value. This definition may be simple for a person who deals in all sorts of cryptocurrencies and has undergone various ICOs but when talking about a layman who has no sound knowledge of crypto, it may get complicated.

How to assess an initial coin offering

For your ease of understanding we have devised a simple example from everyday life which will be quiet helpful for you if you want to understand the basic principle of initial coin offering.

Example From Everyday life

Imagine you want to start a business of your own, you have selected the appropriate location for it, and you’ve also planned the interior and exterior design with the sort of items you are going to sale.

But, There’s one most important thing remaining …..

Without a handsome amount you cannot initiate your business, You must rent or purchase the place you have chosen, stock it with the items you want to sale and also hire some staff to tackle it the way you have devised in your mind.

Let us assume that you are an innovative person and you don’t want to get a loan from any one, you just want to initiate your own sum. For that purpose you produce your own branded product with some specific name say for example “BIT”. But you only generate it in a limited quantity of 1,000 pieces. Let us call each piece a currency, and customer won’t be able to buy that currency until they acquire them using special tokens that you’ll release gradually over the specific period of time following your business launch date.

If demand for BIT is high enough and if you succeed in making your buyers believe that its demand will continue to grow, that will automatically push up the price of the tokens generated in the future. These tokens would obviously sell for large sums and as a result you’ll raise enough money to launch your business.

You can make it further simple to say that first you offered shares for a company which you have not yet launched but you had developed a significant trust so public bought that share for the sake of investment. That was an Initial Public Offering from your side.

How To Apply The Same Principle To ICO?

The principle elaborated in the above example, is also behind an ICO. The same way you offered the public initial shares of your company, an ICO gives public the right to buy a product which exists in a limited quantity. The company offering that product has an option to sell its rights for a higher price.

The beauty of the above process and the thing which differentiates it from the prior IPO example is that it is supported by blockchain technology. This technology guarantees the authenticity of the tokens offered. In short ICO is a whole new way for businesses to raise money. According to the latest ICO news update, it has already been used to generate approximately 2 billion dollars.

How is ICO Risky?

Well, we have full trust on the blockchain technology but we have no issue in admitting that it can too be risky as compared to the Initial Public Offering. Let us see how?

First of all the most satisfactory thing about the IPOs is that they are well regulated. Companies which make such offers are lawfully bound to reveal all sorts of information about themselves before they make it fully public. It allows investors to make fair-minded estimations about their value. The main thing is that people making these investments have full knowledge about the Pros and Cons.

On the other hand people who invest in an ICO have comparatively less knowledge of what they are investing in and what will be the nature of their return. But it can be easy for you if you follow the following principles devised by our crypto experts:

Factors You Must Examine

  • Is the admin panel team of that company experienced?
  • Does the product offered by the company have a good market? If the product isn’t a hot item, there’s is no use to invest in it.
  • You must have proper knowledge of the blockchain technology which is underpinning the sale. How many tokens have been distributed uptill now and what is their security level.
  • The legal and regulatory stuff surrounding the company is safe or not?
  • What are the terms and conditions outlined in the white paper and do they look fair?

We hope that after following these rules and regulations it will be easy for you to make a smart decision in terms of ICO investment, still we are waiting for your suggestions and criticism in the comments section below.

What Is Bitcoin Hard Fork? The Most Intriguing Bitcoin Topic Explained!

Want create site? Find Free WordPress Themes and plugins.

To begin with, Bitcoin has been the talk of every news channel, tabloid, website, etc. for a long while now. It’s increasing popularity might’ve caused a little problem for the network. Bitcoin is in a messy situation right now and something needs to be done. Fortunately, two possible solutions have been proposed as well, but only one can exist.

What is Bitcoin Hard Fork?

It is a compulsory software update that is required in order for the program to function.  It can be implemented to fix bug errors or any security issues present in the older version of the software. Also, a hard fork is irreversible.

The “hard fork” will split the blockchain, leading to the introduction of a new chain of transactions branching from the original one.

Bitcoin Fork Explained – What’s The Issue?

In simple words, Bitcoin is unable to withstand the number of transactions taking place on the network.

The technical explanation is that the 1MB block size limit which is programmed into the system has become a problem and is causing delays in the processing of transactions. Basically, a purchase can take from a few minutes to hours to confirm.

Two techniques were proposed, which result in two different solutions: Bitcoin Unlimited, and Segregated Witness. They’re both proposed software updates to the Bitcoin network with the aim to completely change the way Bitcoin functions.

Obviously, the two can’t coexist, that would “fork” the Bitcoin network – splitting it into two different digital currencies.

A fork is known as a software update. Basically, updating a program from an old version to a new one to fork bitcoin.

Bitcoin Unlimited:

Starting off with Bitcoin Unlimited, this proposal is favored majorly by Bitcoin miners. To understand this, you must know the concept of Bitcoin mining. Bitcoin miners use specified powerful computers to solve complex mathematical algorithms in order to verify a transaction and be rewarded with newly issued bitcoins.

We are aware that there is a built-in block size limit of 1MB in the Bitcoin network, however, BU gives miners the permission to vote on increasing the block size whenever they want. This gives them control of the Bitcoin network, due to which they’re favored by miners.

Segregated Witness:

On the other hand, SegWit is being voted by many Bitcoin enthusiasts and developers. Their aim is to optimize the Bitcoin coding in a way that allows them to decrease the transaction size and increase the transaction volume, all while sticking to the 1MB block limit. They suggest the use of a soft fork.

A soft fork is a software update that lets the network to adapt to the new functionalities and features implemented. The update doesn’t interfere with the existing software and the older version will still be usable.

When is Bitcoin Hard Fork Happening?

Every Bitcoin user around the world is anxiously waiting for August 1st– a day that will mark the history of bitcoin. No one really knows what to expect but we are all eager to know what will be the fate of Bitcoin. We’re approximately 2 weeks away from the big day so let’s reflect back on the possible end result.

On 31st July, the activation of SegWit2x is set to take place. SegWit2x is a proposal that will enact SegWit through a Soft Fork but will increase its block-size limit by Hard Fork after three months. So, basically, SegWit2x will be introducing Segregated Witness first which will follow a 2MB block-size increase three months later.

Moreover, SegWit2x has the support of major mining pools which means it’s backed up by miners.

What Will Be The Bitcoin Hard Fork Consequences?

When the 2MB hard fork is scheduled to be introduced, there are chances of a chain split to occur cause of the soft fork. This, in return, would lead some part of the community jumping on to SegWit2x while others remain on SegWit.

This can create a very messy situation as there would be two different kinds of Bitcoin present. The last thing we’d want is to damage Bitcoin, particularly since there are high chances of two competitor blockchains existing simultaneously.

What Should I Do in Order To Prepare For August 1st?

You’re advised to move your bitcoins to a private wallet, where you solely are in charge of your private keys. Also, be sure to do this before July 31st, and remain until storm calms down. We are not aware of what is in store for us on August 1st or the day after, and the future is a total blur. So, let’s sit back and watch the calendar hit August.

Who Will Be The Winner?

Aha! Too bad we can’t answer this question because half the community goes for SegWit and the other half for BU. There’s not really much we can do, just voice out our opinion and educate others with whatever we learn and maybe help them come up with opinions of their own.

We’ll just have to patiently wait and watch how this turns out.

I’d like to point out that I have a very limited technical knowledge and only know my way around a few technical terminologies. This post is a compilation of weeks of research that I’ve put together myself. So, if you do find any errors, do let me know in the comment section below and I’ll be sure to check.
